EQEmu Username Password Error

Im having trouble with using the Public Login. I get Bad Username and Password Error. I went through all the steps in the Readme files, but I havent figured out the problem yet.

I tried getting it to work similarly to the Minilogin just to try to figure out what I was doing wrong but I still have the same problem.

[LoginServer]
loginserver=127.0.0.1
worldname=MYSERVERNAME
locked=FALSE
account=ACCOUNT_I_CREATED_Via INSERT INTO commands
password=PASSWORD_I_SET
worldaddress=127.0.0.1
loginport=5999

[Database]
host=127.0.0.1
user=MYSQL_USERNAME
password=MYSQL_PASSWORD
database=eq

I created new accounts using INSERT INTO login_accounts, and then used the login_authchange and login_worldservers commands.

When I setup the IP addresses in the MySql database, do I have to specify the port? Guess my only other thoughts is why do we need to enter the IP address in the first place?

Public Login is un-supported. dont expect an official answer :)

I'm not official so try this.

You look to be on the right track. And it looks like the login server will work for you.

Strugle with this for a bit longer redoing it over a few times.

100 to 1 says your mis reading a README. If still no luck.. Come back posting ALL your *.ini Plus the exact commands your using to add the user names and worldservers in. Plus the errors/messeges your getting on the loginserver screen, as well as the world server screens.

With all that info the answer is 99% likely to be found in the next post after.

The PublicLogin is rather tempermental. Be sure to set the login_authorization line for your login AFTER the server is running. I posted a batch file in 3rd party tools to help with getting publiclogin working.

I tryied using your batch file in the 3rd party tools section but I get the same error, however I didnt get any errors while running your batch file. I ran all three choices first recreating the tables in the database, then creating a new account, then reauthorizing it, while the Public login, world and zone emulators where running. All my IP addresses are set at 127.0.0.1 and im using the the primary account (account_id 1) I setup as the account specified in the loginserver.ini file. The EQEmu console login, world and zone servers all start without any errors, when I launch the client application, I get the "EQEmu bad username and password error" trying to login. Im just trying to get the Public login working so that I can switch it all to a different computer, but the application doesnt seem to work correctly.

Try using your lan IP instead of 127.0.0.1
Try running the server, and then create a second login for playing

/sigh i still am having exact same problems. i even ran server after server settings to set accounts, set account before running server, or even set server, run it then close it, then set accounts.

basically i tried everything.

This is happening to me as well, tried deleting everything and starting over, reauthing accounts, etc. but nothing seems to help.... the "officals" dont seem to konw what is going on either, and arnt helping with this much, but it is there unsupported relese after all. :P If i get mine working I will post here... good luck with yours in the meantime

I am not sure what to say :( I did my best to layout what worked for me on 2 machines. It is basically written into my batch file.

Some words of advice:
Use the lan IP not 127.0.0.1
Make sure your server is running without errors
Have the server running
Make the user entry with the IP of the client machine
Check that the login_auth entry is actually there
Then login the client
