Game crashes when I try to log in
 

EQEMU crashes after I put my password and login name in. It freezes for about 3 seconds then just closes down. I followed the old guide, and the new guide for the account creation. Anybody know what's wrong? Thanks

BTW, I found another thread, but nobody had an answer for that person and he says that he didn't know what he did to fix it.

your eqhost.txt file needs to be changed. What you need to change it to is on the frontpage of eqemulator.net.

What do you mean changed?? I changed eqhost and mine still crashes?? I have double and triple checked it all and its all right, but mine still crashes at login... any ideas?

Try patching to normal EQ and see if it works that way play like you would on one of hteir servers and let me know if it works if it doesnt you have to delete some files from your EQ directory and repatch because they are corrupted.

Im currently having the same problem. I was having trouble logging onto servers or servers weren't showing up and I was getting aggrivated. It kept telling me to run the patcher and, stupid me, I did it. You told the person above me to delete files, but if the servers haven't caught up to what EQLive has put out, then won't we still have the same problem?
Unless it IS a corrupt file or something. I did almost the exact same thing as our friend above did so im stumped.

did you create a "station" account? Before I read the directions I just changed eqhost.txt and then logged in normal (without patching) and clicked connect and it died on me... the first time you use it you need to click account, and create an account.

Dont feel bad, I got the same problem. I created new account gardengnome, but clicking Login after entering Sn and Pw (Station Name and Password) a error comes up saying eqgame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I used the new eqclient after I updated today, after I re installed EQ and everything. Used the new account login eqhost also.

It just boots me off when I click login, but then sometimes, it also let's me see the server screen but when I click log in, it just stays at that screen then eventually says Error Timedout

Okay, I got it to server select screen and can click log in....but then it crashes to log in screen and I do it again, it says I need to update patch but I already did. Any ideas?

Do you have Euro EQ, or US EQ?
Cuz u need US EQ for it to werk right.
So far there isnt a Euro EQ login that werkz right.
So Either Ghet the US EQ, if u already do, right click eqhost.txt, go to properties, and turn off Read Only, or if it is off, Turn it on.
Ive discovered some Older Installs will vary with this problem.

my eqhost file is correct, my account works as it always has. but i redownloaded everything cause i had to reformat now i crash same as these other people when i try to login, it crashes with no error.
