How Do I work MyODBC with Quest Helper?
 

Was wondering how to get Quest Helper to work with MyODBC, got it loaded and such but can't get quest helper to work.

if you are using windows Xp go to the control panel
then administrative tools
then Data Source (ODBC)

here in the tab name User DSN
select MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver
and click on Configure

here in the new window for Data Source Name put EQemu
Database Name : eq
Username : the same you specified for MySQL
Pasword : the same you specified for MySQL

click on test Data Source to test it then on OK
now You should be able to search NPCs and Items with Quest Helper

(if you have an error when trying to search with the program crashing just put the adodbl.dll in your windows\system32\ folder (under windows XP)

Quest Helper.exe - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135).Click on OK to terminate the application.

have you installed the .NET Framework as specified ?

Dunno what that is, running Windows XP Professional version. How do I set up .NET frame?

its what permit you to run programm made with Visual Studio .NET
get it from microsoft website (maybe windows update not sure )

Ok, went to the microsoft website, found .NET Redistributable and .NET XP SOAP Integration. Downloaded the first one, tried to open the installer for it and nothing happened. Now trying the SOAP Integration download. Any clues to other ways of getting .NET framework?

Found out the Redistributable is the same as the .NET Framework Service Pack 1 :( . For some reason it won't run for me.

you "may" need the windows installer , actually it should already be on your computer if you have internet explorer 5 or 5.5 or 6 esle just try to find it on microsoft web site ( its 2 megs)

(I assume that you cant do anything cause the two files you fave ar .msi)
