timeout

when clicking on the play everquest button at the server select, i get Error:time out has occured.

how do i fix this?

This usually comes up when you select the wrongs server version. If you patched recently you have to connenct to 5.7DR6 servers. If you haven't patched recently, do so. If that doesn't work try again later case your conecntion is lagged.
