question about windows XP

does anyone know how to put a password on a folder? such as, my brotehr is always deleting my files to be a bother, but i always leave my computer logged in. so is there a way to make it so you have to enter a password to access certain folders even though i may be logged in?

Delete the files and leave them in the recycle bin, when you want to use them...just right click the file in the recycle bin and click restore.

lol :D

Or just take a 1 and 1/2 sec and click on start then click on log off and click swich user and when you come back just type your password.

If you dont have one... you can lock the computer down by just having the admin password .

Memener = windowsXP/computer/computer hardware pro

I have a better solution. Pummel your brother! Beat him into a bloody pulp! Pound him into oblivion! Don't put up with that shit. I would seriously smack the shit outta my brother if he thought he was gonna be cute and delete my stuff. After the first time, there wouldn't be a second.

I know 2 programs that can fix your problem :]

1. 1 Click & Lock
locks your whole computer with a password
2. Hide Files & Folders
you can hide specific folders/files or lock them with a password. if you hide it, you cant find it with search

i lost the link tho.. sorry :|
you can try searching for it

Easier way = Simply create a password for your accont (if you dont already have one), then just right click on the desktop, and choose properties, then click the screensaver tab. Now, pick any screensaver and set it to the time you would like to have it come on.. Now there is a checkbox that says "On resume password protect" (or something like that). Now you can leave it alone, and when the screensver comes on it cant be taken off until your password is typed in.... Problem solved...

Hope this helps, but I DO like Rex's idea too.... Consider it...:)
