That Classic EQ in-game immersive feel...
Personally I still like to go around towns in EQlive (not just Norrath towns, but Luclin, Kunark, and the like) to talk to NPCs and see what they have to say about the world and the other NPCs. I also like to go into Blackburrow and other now-dead and un-entered Norrath zones and punch gnolls and other still-standing and now largely unattacked MOBs after removing my weapon. Its still fun to walk the empty fields of Karana and the forest of Surefall Glade to talk to the Druids. These are just examples. The lore is still there if U wanna get a little more of that classic adventurous and immersive feel.

Oh the nostalgia....
I think I'm going to cry! I miss the 1999 Everquest when the original 3 continents were all we had, and were largely unexplored. |
yeah, you dont realise how much isnt on allakazam until you try talking to every npc in the zone

fair enough , it was fun "at the time".
Ive played live for over 4 years now. Back then , in it was hell. No PoK ports , deaths were like your worst nightmare, you could barely solo a d blue con and finding groups was sometimes a lot harder. Newbies never had it so good which is true. But the best thing about EQ isnt seeing all the classic content. Its progressing and seeing the newest stuff. I was lvl 60 with 12 AAs once pop came out. I had done everything on SoL (VT , Emp , Seru ) pop was a new venture , The race to lvl 65 , uber aa farming and most of all , planar progression. Im now time flagged , raid officer of my guild. The content and lore is amazing. progressing as a guild that i lead makes me enjoy the game more. The first EQEmu server to give good raiding content will get my dedication , just a real shame theres never any server that has 40 or so similar leveled toons at once (i dont think) |
everytime i go on WR while theres like 100 or 50 people there, and do a /who, its ALL lvl 60's or something, i bet they have alot of big raids.
btw, i lost 2 guilds due to pop flags, they can eat shit, and those 30 people raids in EQclassic days were alot cooler in general i think than the mass raids today |
true in one way , its too easy to get 65 now. But EQ classic , pre kunark. The only real big raids were Naggy , Vox and Epic raids.
And how many times do you do those until they become tedious? |

115 players. 1-20: 15 players 21-40: 25 players 40-50: 15 players 50-55: 10 players 56+: The rest. We're an old server, main reason we have so many high levels... though yeah, eventually most games get that way. It's just the natural rate where you have to put in new content and acquisitions to keep people amused. |
How are you guys able to play right now? When I log in it stays at that "Connecting to server..." thing and it won't let me pass. Can someone help me out? I haven't played the Emulator since 2003!Thanks guys.

Just think...if EQEmu ever gets its own client (here's hoping) this won't be a problem anymore...

I think WR is still using the old login servers and maybe a few other servers too. They are still running at eqlogin1.eqemulator.net I think.

As much time and work as Wiz has put into the WR, the only reason I go on the emulator is to go onto non-legit servers and explore zones and spawn models to check out the graphics and animations and play around with weapons and clothing and battle MOBs. Do things that you wouldn't be able to on EQLive or things that would take much longer to accomplish. I just don't have time to spend hours slowly leveling up anymore, now that I'm older.

non legit servers are fun for about, an hour.
|
That's funny cuz I've spent over a year on them. There's tons to learn and do.
