1017 Error Assistance
 

I've been working on this for 2 days now and can't find the problem. I am able to see my server on the server select screen but when I try to enter it, I see the desktop for about 5 seconds and then eqgame loads back up and I get a 1017 error. XP Firewall, and all other firewalls are turned off, and so is Internet Connection Sharing.

Windows XP, running minilogin, and I'm trying to host and play on the same PC, using 0.5.6 emu

And I have the pre June 22nd patch

everything is loading up fine.
it's most likely a conflict with your version of eq and eqemu.

In your Loginserver.ini :

You have two account's listed.

Should be:

account=eqemu
password=eqemu

Minilogin is dead from what i know - Try this

replace all ips in boot5zones.bat and loginserver.ini to localhost

eqhost.txt, change it to look like this

in loginserver.ini

change it to that, save, run world, then boot5zones...log in and you're happy.
