The next EQEmu version...
Will the database that i have for my 5.6 whatever the newest release is, work when they come out with the next Emu version?
|
Do you mean MW 57?
If so, if there are any DB changes the devs will usaully release a sql file to update tables with the release. If they do not, I am sure a post will pop up shortly after with the correct sql. |
oh sorry i forgot to put what DB lol. i just meant the dumpeditems that are currentley out.
|
and 1 more question.. will the dumpeditems taht are out currentley work with any version that is soon to come out?
|
I can personally testify to your last question with the answer:
NO The fields in that dumpeditems download keep changing and every time we've sourced a new item set in, we try to boot up world.exe again and are met with a bunch of "unknown column" errors. We have to effectively play whack-a-mole as we add each column back in one by one and restart world after each addition to see which column it's gonna gripe about next. It seems they're changing field names with each CVS dump, I assume they rename the "unknown*" fields as they figure out what each of them are for. But it means you gotta have an item dump and a CVS dump that were released right about the same time as each other. Deviate too far off and you start getting a crapload of unknown column errors when you start the worldserver up. |
oh... so even if i downloaded and sourced it to items... and then deleted EVERY ItEM from the sql. file... and made all my own it still wont work?
|
It wouldn't work since the field names are different than what the world.exe and zone.exe are expecting.
Hopefully I'm wrong, and if you want to try it, then by all means back up your existing items table and then try to source a new one in. But we attempted an item update on our production server a few times while remaining with an older CVS dump, and when we tried we didn't have much luck. |
:( oh k i will prolly be able to change it easy... i only have 30 items
