Invalid Page Fault in eqgame.exe
 

can someone tell me the fix for this problem please, appears once logged in and i've selected the server, get invalid page fault seems to be in eqdx8.dll so might be graphics problem?
any help much appreciated.

What is your desktop color bits and resolution set to?

my colours is 16 bit high colour, res is 1024x768 im running win98se on an athlon 900.

Do you have a 16bit low color? or any other lower color settings?

yes, i could set the colours lower, i will try that and let you know.
apart from that, i have read about playing without using EQw, will this help?

Well you can try but have you read the parts about eqgame patchme causes 1017 errors? hehe.

hmmm, well i might try that as a last resort. the way i see it i could just use the official EQ patcher, and once patched, rechange the EQHosts.txt to point to the eqemu login servers, then press play right? or will that still cause the 1017 errors?

That should work fine i guess. but beware, EQW is the only supported way to connect so if eqgame patchme or the patcher trick doesnt work then you'll have to get EQW working.
