Looking for a Family orientated server?

On the Scorpious2K server we have many children who play and some who play with there parents. I know of at least three 5 year olds, and at least eight 6-9 year olds who play on the server. Due to this fact we strictly keep OOC and IRC in a PG frame of mind.

No Cursing - will warn then revoke ooc and irc till i feel like giving them back. Will ban if it come to it.

No adult content - see above

No cybering - see above

We also have a play nice policy in effect, and we do watch players and enforce it.

We attempt to maintain a decient server for parents to bring there young ones on to play with them. People who want to talk the way you want and do what you want ...i am sure there is another server out there for you.

Wow. Being 14 myself, I am not sure on how to "criticize" this. I am having trouble finding the words to describe what to call a parent that introduces their children to a madly addicting MMORPG, regardless of it not being the real thing, ESPECIALLY when they are younger then 13. I expect you to respond with "the content differs from live, so it doesn't play the same role", or similar. However, that is not true. It's all the same basis, infact, the community is probably worse on the emulator then on live. I am sure to find myself proven wrong in some way, but when your child grows up like "omg mom wheres my pizza dum bich lol haxxed nub" and being 37 years old with diabetes still residing with you, I will laugh.

My 2 cents~

Well, there are alot less people on EQEMu Servers, I suppose that EQEMu is a tool you could use to teach him/her Problem Solving, Reading (lol, okay not so much), Math (Skills, Stats..), and...memory?

Just an opinion. Mind you that this would be with a Parent playing with them with no one else around them. Im not suggesting EQEMu is a good tool, I'm just saying its not 100% bad.

I started playing UO when I was like ten, what's the big problem? I turned out just fine. (IN BEFORE THE STUPID "lol no u didnt" JOKES)

I'll say that EQ has likely given me a great advantage vocabulary-wise, I started playing when I was about 11-12 and though live no longer offers the content I seek (Thus, EQEmu), it is still a very nice game in my eyes. I certainly wouldn't want my child to be keeping him/herself busy with videogames, rather sports and physical activities instead, so I would try my best to help avoid such things. Hopefully when I am older I'll stop with games so I may move on and stick with this as an example for my offspring. I'm not questioning Sk2, it's a really nice server since when I had last played it, but when you let someone interact with people accross the net it may effect them differently. Again, just an opinion coming from someone not too older then the youngins, but take it from me, sometimes I wish I had never gotten into these games (especially MMORPG's) because it consumes my life most of the time, minus the small % that is somewhat of a social life. I try my best not to be offensive in my posts but it happens and it has happened again, so, sorry. :P

If you're anything like me you'll turn out just fine, don't worry about it.

Personally I plan to raise my kids the way I was raised because I'm awesome.
