To get started..
from a fresh install of EQ:Platinum..what do you have to do from there in order to play successfully?
|
................................
Try reading the sticky HOW TO PLAY EQEMU |
hmm
a typical non-helpful comment..i read that entire "guide to get started and playing" made by melwin..let me tell you, i do exactly what it says..yet when i make a character it tries to "entering mines of gloomingdeep"..from there it goes black, then a lil later im back on server select..am i supposed to patch to a specfic point or something in order to play or what?
|
you cant play with a fresh install. period.
|
wow
wow..if you *cant* play with a fresh install..what the hell is the point of even trying eqemu..this has to be one of the shittiest mmo emulators ive seen
|
yeah..
and soton..you think you know anything..why would Melwin right up this http://humme.dk/eqemu/playguide.html and say in the first step to INSTALL EQ..obviously thats a fresh install..so i dont think he'd right something that doesnt work..so go be useless somewhere else

Sometimes when Sony patch the EQ Client (as they did for OOW in the last couple of days), it is no longer compatible with the EQEmu servers. The developers then have to figure out how to make the servers compatible with the live client again ... just be patient and check back here every now and then, or take your negative attitude to some other 'mmo emulator' ... PS: Melwin wrote that guide a week or so back ... before the Sony patch made the client incompatible. |
a) did you even patch? (although i believe OoW release broke eqemu.. still couldnt hurt to ask)
b) and yes, call the thing shitty when you cant figure out how to play it, good work |
great job magika way to flame a post..so you can rack up more posts..again a useless comment..im just frustrated..no one explains well enough on this website..like..it should say "this guide is outdated do not use it"..stuff like that would be better help for me to understand my predicament..not "good work for saying this is shit.." you dont have to repeat what i said cause i know what i said and its from the frustration..but ill wait and see what happens in 5.9..maybe i can play..if not..then oh well, i got ffxi

http://humme.dk/eqemu/miss2.jpg Did you miss the memo or something? What's there to not understand? When we become compatible with Live again, you can play with Live's client. |

So if your connecting to 5.8 then it will work, becasuse the client is compatable with eqlive, meaning all the files that are required to play with that client are currently being downloaded by the patcher, thus if you do a fresh install you will get all the files you need. All a fresh install does is allows you to only see the patical effects, and spell thats all the other graphics wont work. Also another point, since the current patch is not compatable with the 5.7 servers, you cannot freshly install everquest right now and play on a 5.7 server unless you get files from someone else, which might or might not be illegal you decide, but whatever you do dont ask for hte files on eqemulator its against the rules and you will be banned i'm pretty sure. This does not apply to the 9-14-04 patch as it is broken now so dont ask. Up to that date i'm correct i believe. |

" just wanted to tell ya that i have same problem, but only sometimes, when i connect to server i can choose character, but after connecting and played some for the first time of day, if i try to connect later on the day it happends the same as it happends for you.. |
