PC Models

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why no matter what I do, I can only view the old character models. Can anyone give me any pointers? My live EQ runs the new models fine, but not the emu one. I've even tried deleting my INI files and turning on all models from scratch.

Bwahaha! I sort of figured it out, but not quite. It's saying I have no expansions! Frogloks are disabled totally and if I select Vah Shir it says that I need to buy Luclin!! Now what do I do? LOL.

/em smacks self

I was using the EQ Classic database.

i got the same problem but what do you mean with classic data base how do i change it?

Elkay 09-19-2004 10:53 AM

Use a different database. There are a couple 5.8 compatible ones out there, and EQ Classic is one, but it is strictly oldworld content, trying to reproduce the original EQ feel. This database disables what it can that wasn't in the original EQ, and that include Luclin models.

I've noticed that I now have the old PC models issue as well... with the 5.8 test server.
I can load in fine using classic races, but not new ones, also cannot go to any zones other than classic, but can #level to 65 and summon POP and GOD items.
I've only had this issue on the test server, the other servers I checked I had no problems with

You are using a classic database thats why. It restricts models and zones.

dragonflz 09-19-2004 03:26 PM

ok here is the deal with the old pc models.
it is due to the database the server is running.
in the database there is a table called variables, under there you can adjust what expansions are active... with the PEQ classic DB that particular variable is set to 64, which forced the client to use the old pc models.

The classic db has the variable set to 0 actually. which forces old models.

dragonflz 09-19-2004 10:45 PM

ok, well I stand corrected.
although I sourced in the DB that maintains account information and my variable was set to 64 as a result..

That version must also maintain server "variables" as well is the only explanation i can think of. =)
