Help on connecting plz
 

I need some help I did everything that I seen on the fourms about setting up to play Everquest on EQEmu but can not get it to work at all. I started from scratch 2 times I'm going to try it one more time soon and see what happens. I installed everquest then I got on live to get the patch updates I got them all but OOW, Then I made a account on EQEmu for the fourms and also one for the everquest login, I made the shortcut and put the patchme at the end so it would bypass the patching phase and go right into the game menu which it did, I put the file eqlsClient into the dir and also the eqhost file in the same dir and went to the eqhost.txt file to make sure the the Read-only was clicked off. but evertime I try to login it says that I need to check my internet connection which I know is working cause I'm on here right now. Can anyone help me please I know a little bit about computers and having a hard time with this. Are there any files that I need to download to get onto a server?

I loaded everything from SOE, found a patcher for 5.8/5.9, which if you search for a patcher in the forums, or go to google and search for an Everquest Patcher you should be able to find the same thing. Once I did that I was able to log in with no problems except when I lose connection to the servers. Some people are confusing the ability to connect with patch issues, which makes it doubly confusing.

To simply connect with an EqEMU server, I believe all that you have to do is alter your EqHost.txt file in your Everquest directory (apart from having a Forum account). It should read;

[Login Server]
Host=newlogin1.eqemulator.net:5994

Note that there should be NO spaces at the end of the sentences...
