Client Setup for Wintards 5.9-DR2 (asof: 10/10/2004)
 

STEP 1 (Pick Your EQ Directory)
Pick One
C:/Program files/Sony/EverQuest
C:/Program files/Sony/EverQuest Trilogy

STEP 2 (Patch EverQuest Live, Advanced/Complete File Scan)
Run your eqgame.exe program in the EverQuest directory.
Wait a moment for the client to sync, then click the advanced button.
Checkmark everything except Legends (the top checkbox, leave blank) and run a compleate file scan and save. When the scan is compleate click the Download Files button.

STEP 3 (Extracting Downloaded Files)
After you have downloaded all the files with the EverQuest Patcher and you are able to play the game Extract the downloaded files from STEP 1 onto your desktop.
Move eqhost.txt into your EverQuest Directory and overwrite the existing files.

Run the shortcut you extracted in STEP 3.
Login using your Username/Password for these messageboards.

Not all servers work! If none work its not your fault. If you follow the directions here you did whats needed to play any DR1/DR2 unless older clients are required, in which case you should find the source for those files from the Server Op before playing.

I suggest playing Winter's Roar. Download WR Patcher. Read the Starting Guides, and Naming Policies.

Uh... this guide is wrong. DR1 wont work with live client. The above will only work for DR2 servers
