in the Eqemu world, and I have a newby question so just bear with me here : all i have is the original game, nothing else, can i play on eqemu servers after having correctly setup my eqhost.txt file and changing the path of my eqgame.exe file? I won't have any patches or expansions installed so basically, will i need to do anything thing else?

AFAIK you need a fully updated version of the original game.

making a new login account isnt that it doesnt work, its just that a lot of new users have been having problems with it. so its really almost a 50/50 chance of it working.

so can i update the game without having an active account with SOE? cuase i don't...

To answer your question, yes, you will need an active account with Sony to patch. Part of the rules on this board is that anyone posting files (or links to them) can get banned.

you dont need to present a everquest account name and pass to patch with the patcher though. So if you have a copy of everquest you can still patch.
