Hi all,

I'm new to the site but I've spent the last 3 days sifting through all the tutorials and such trying to get logged in/my own server/ and/or use minilogin. After trying at least 4 tutorials on setting up your own server, I have found one problem to be the same.
I get this when I try to log on to a site server.

Error 1010: No host was found!
Check the the file EQHOST.TXT exists
in the Everquest Directory.

I have replaced the eqhost.txt file in the eq directory with the newest one from site and made it read only. I'm not sure why it says it's not there when it is. I would just like to make sure I can log onto another's server before I go making my own. Any help would be greatful. Here is some info on my system,

Win XP Home w/sp2
P4 3 GHz, 2 G DDR Ram
Linksys wirelss G broadband router (not sure if i allow ports for just logging in on others servers)

Fresh install of EQ Evolutions without doing a patch (didn't do patch when I saw not to on site, will that mess things up by not doing a patch at all from a fresh install???)

my eqhost.txt file: (no spaces anywhere)

[LoginServer]
Host=newlogin1.eqemulator.net:5994

I believe you're stuck at the moment, as you needed the up to date patch before the 12/15 patch. It won't work with a fresh install.

Thanks for the reply, I was afraid of that. I'll just sit tight til then. Any idea on average when new updates come out after patches? "on average" is the key word =)

They can be anywhere from same day to 11 months. It will probably be in the weeks category, but there are no promises.

So I guess it comes down to this question...

Since I did a complete live update AFTER 12/15/04...

Am I stuck not playing on any server, including one I make, EQemu servers or scorpious2k until a new emu patch comes out? =(

Oh god say I'm wrong...

ps...I did try to get on scorpious2k AFTER the complete live patch of 12/15/04 and I made it to the server select screen, but when I hit connect I just get booted back to the login screen.

you should still be able to play on WR and S2K, i think what your experiencing lookinging at your join date, your login account isnt activated yet.

According to the tutorials, my login server account is instant. Is this not so? I made forum and server account 2 days ago.

This is why people are having problems with their new accounts not showing up and/or with their password changes seeming to not take affect.

I'm looking in to the issue of the replication problems and in the short term and trying to manually sync newlogin1 with the main DB as my time permits.

Sorry, for the delay in the new account and the password changes, I'll try to get this fixed as soon as I can.
