Trouble With MiniLogin
Hi all. I'm having a wee bit of trouble getting the minilogin server to work. I installed the regular unpatched everquest, without any expansions and set up the emulator EXACTLY as outlined in the readme. I set up the mysql database properly and the ini files correctly and the eqhost.txt file correctly.
Anyways, the problem comes about when I try to run the emulator. I first run minilogin.exe as directed after loading the mysqldatabaseadmin-thing-a-mig-jig. The first thing it does is pop up a message saying [loginserver.ini] - block missing. Something to that extent. Now, my loginserver.ini is EXACTLY AS YOU SPECIFIED! Then I run world.exe and it works perfectly. Then I run the run5zoneswin9x.bat and it runs perfectly. Then I load up Eqw.exe, in my everquest directory. Hit start eq and eq loads up. I go to the connect menu and enter in eqemu as the station name and password as directed. I hit connect and everquest pops up the error message "No host found. Make sure the file eqhost.txt exists in your everquest directory." WELL IT DOES AND HAS BEEN CHANGED AS DIRECTED BY YOU GUYS! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG HERE? |
"regular unpatched" everquest: that means that eq is patched until the yesterday's pacth came out?
do you host eqemu on your machine? can you post the contents of db.ini, loginconfig.ini, run5zoneswin9x.bat, eqhost.txt ? |
I mean I have the version of everquest that you get from the original CD, no patching whatsoever in any form. And I am hosting eqemu on my computer, without an internet connection.
My loginserver.ini reads exactly as follows: ### --- This file tells world.exe what loginserver to connect to. ### --- do not add an account and password unless a EQEmu Dev member has created an account for you. ### --- adding an account and password only grants the server a green name and is not needed. # READ README.TXT [LoginServer] loginserver=127.0.0.1 worldname=Tom locked=false account= password= worldaddress=127.0.0.1 loginport=5999 My db.ini reads exactly as follows: # READ README.TXT! [Database] host=localhost user= "THIS IS MYSQL USERNAME" password= "THIS IS MYSQL PASSWORD" database=eq ### --- This file tells world.exe what computer mySQL is on. Host should ### --- be left as localhost unless mysql is ### --- on a differant computer than world.exe. Note: I did not include my real username nor password for security reasons. Boot5ZonesWin9x.bat reads exactly as follows: REM: ****Read this first!!!**** REM: This file requires your real IP in the place of "YourIP" when you are connecting REM: To the EQEmu Loginserver. REM: When you are using minilogin, Replace all IP Addresses to say 127.0.0.1 REM: If you still get errors try using localhost instead of 127.0.0.1 REM: zone9x.exe is for use with Windows 98 and ME only. REM: If you are running Windows NT/2000 or XP use ZoneNT.exe REM:--------------Start----------------------- @echo off start zone9x . 127.0.0.1 7995 127.0.0.1 start zone9x . 127.0.0.1 7996 127.0.0.1 start zone9x . 127.0.0.1 7997 127.0.0.1 start zone9x . 127.0.0.1 7998 127.0.0.1 start zone9x . 127.0.0.1 7999 127.0.0.1 exit cls REM:---------------END------------------------ Note: I am using windows 98 second edition. And finally, my eqhost.txt, in the everquest directory reads as follows: [Registration Servers] { "127.0.0.1:5999" } [Login Servers] { "127.0.0.1:5999" } As a side note, I am using the newest versions of mysql and eqw. Your assistance please! |
Wont work, has to be patched to current. But when you patch to current its gonna break anyway until the new emu is released...
|
Damned if you do... damned if you don't. :(
|
eqemu 3.1.1 does not work with EQ from the CD's and does not work with the latest (wednesday's) patch.
patch eq and wait until 3.2 comes out. |
Ok, so what version of eq does the emu work with?
|
Verant has a site that has all the patch versions available for download, but its not publicly advertised... Can't remember where it is though, don't really care enough to look for it...
eqemu 3.1.1 works with the patch version prior to wednesday. |
