Just wondering...
 

I haven't been able to play yet so I'm waiting like many others... but anyway in the newest guide it doesn't require any downloads or anything... I don't understand how that would work if yuo can edit or creat items and mobs... wouldn't you have to download something? I was just curious

Why would you need to edit mobs/items/etc just to play on an EQEmu server? Thats why its called a "Play Guide".

I have another question... if you host a local server, can you be patched to current and still get on... I think i know the answer... but just thought i'd ask... I'm hoping for a positive response

as stated in dozens of other places,

No hosting a server will not allow you to get around being patched to live.
