where is the correct cvs ?

Heya,
first thread I open so I guess I should give you my congratulations for the job you have done :)

Well, I looked at the sourceforge site and seems like task / bug parts are not updated :( Could be cool to get some notice there to keep everyone informed (take some time although).

Anyway, the thing I am looking for is the CVS tree, seems like the one which is at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/eqemu is really old (5 months old). Are you still using cvs for current developping ? Any luck it can be made public ?

Wow, what a nice tool, especially where it shows you the changes in files between version numbers. I really wish it were still being used but perhaps its too much hassle.

Well, they dont use cvs. They just use sourceforge as a file repository, and as it provides you with some exposure in the open source community. Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe they are using a private Starteam for configuration management..

We do have a CVS, it's powered by a program called starteam, and it is a private CVS for the dev team only, sorry =(

hmmm

No need to be sorry :)

I was interested in the lastest combat system, will check in 3.2 once made public :p

cheers,

I'm curious -- is Starteam a form of CVS server? Is it better than the standard implemenation of cvs (from http://www.cvshome.org/)? Or is it a completely different SCM system?

I only ask because I've done a little bit of work with different SCM systems.

Lyenu X`Arie 05-18-2002 02:31 AM

Starteam is the client for the CVS server which is called starbase (made by the same company). It's completely different, not usnig the same server or anything =)

theCoder 05-18-2002 02:43 AM

Ah, it is a completely different SCM (source configuration management) system not in any way related to CVS. That's kind of what I suspected, but when you said it was a CVS server (which it's not) that confused me. I understand now. Thanks for clearing that up.

Lyenu X`Arie 05-18-2002 03:25 AM

Sorry, let me restate. It is a form of "CVS". =)
