No Place Like Home Server is Back up! ..... errr i think

I followed the instructions in the wikki to the last 't' so to speak... and everything seems to work fine... the world.exe boots with no errors... the boot5zones.bat runs also with no errors at all! ..

.. I get all excited that my server is finally back up, login to the eqemu, get to the server list... and guess what? ..... its not there :(

Please help me :( who ate my server? :P

Mhhh, have you open right port on your router/firewall ?
Like 9000 udp/tcp and of course boot5zone port in udp/tcp ?
Yes ? for see better :
Can you produce your log (text you have after work and boot5zone)
And your loginserver.ini and db.ini files ? (Without password and login !)

I think i fixed it lol... my loginserver.ini was a bit messed up, not sure how.

The server now shows up, and even says its up... but now wont let me log in.... my client is ok so i know its not that (i can log in to other folks servers fine :) )

Think my problem is that thingy in the wikki that goes on about people connecting to there own servers... though am having trouble navigating that site. noip.com or something...

wont let me sign up... keep putting in my info over and over, and it just keeps resetting the same page... wonder if anyone else having that problem?

Problem with site.no-ip.org is easy when we can understand hehe :)

Pc need IP adress on internet like 123.123.123.123 (4 numbers)
Most connection have dynamic IP adress like
123.123.123.123 , 234.234.234.234, etc...
Ip adress change each time you connect to internet.

Loginserver of eqemu need your IP adress for connect your server, and your zone.exe need it to connect client also.
But if IP change, LS, world, and zone are'nt up to date (with config file)

When you go on site No-ip.org (or other), you open one account !
This account say NameOfMySite.no-ip.org = Current IP adress from pc (you can find it on http://whatismyip.com)
And on your pc, you have a soft who tell no-ip.org when your current IP change.

Now in place of external ip on config files you put NameOfMySite.no-ip.org, and like IP adress fix, your config files are always right :)

Still can't get in

hmm seems i have a new problem.. I'm logged onto my server and all seems ok...

.... but it seems the rest of the outside world can't :( anyone have any idea's, or could a few of you try and get into my server and let me know if you get in, im not sure if these are isolated incidences :(

Any help is appreciated.... and gee... i thought i was doing so well too :)

Post your log (work, boot5zone, etc windows copy) here
and your config files boot5zone.bat, loginserver.ini and db.ini files (without your password of course).

Are you sure about your router and firewall ?

You can replace 10.0.0.3 by localhost or 127.0.01
You can replace eqemulator.net by newlogin1.eqemulator.net in loginserver.ini
but that not solve your problem i think.

I have ask 2 times but you don't speak about router/firewall ?
Have you open 9000 port tcp/udp and 7995 to 7999 tcp/udp ?
99% of problem when servername is up in loginserver come with forgotten Router/firewall :)

I dont have a firewall active atm Belf... at least i dont think i do.

My set up is kind of odd. but ill try to explain

I have the following :

Primary Domain Controller/DNS/DHCP (Nadia) : Int ip : 10.10.1.1
Internet Server (Nadine) : int ip : 10.0.0.1 <-- gateway used by rest of internal network to access the internet
: Ext ip : 82.33.117.21
EQ Server (Naomi) : Int ip : 10.0.0.3

The server is running fine from Naomi. and i can log into via emulator.net from Nadine perfectly... but as far as i can tell.. no one else can log in

Ok i understand better you have same type of config than me :)

you need to DNAT all port use by EQ (9000, 7995 TO 7999) to your eqserver pc (naomi) from your internet pc server. Without that, requests made by connecting client come to your internet pc server and never land on eqserver pc (naomi).
You can log on eqserver pc (noami) because you don't use internet but local connect.

If anyone can explain that on windows XP plz post i know that only in linux.
