Last S2K server
 

After a lot of thought, I have decided we will go ahead and sell this last copy of the Scorpious2k server. Includes DB, executables, utilities, source, etc.

There isn't a 24/7 server up now and there seem to be a lot of players asking for someone to bring one up.

Sell? If you're giving it away, lemme know.

Do you take brownie points and/or monopoly money?

Talk about digging up bones...
I doubt it, but his server lives in the Shape of
Cheaters we use all of his spawns and Quest
and moddified to suit 0.7.0
i have not been able to drop in his items yet
but the quest and other things are in there.
there was a few others out there,
dunno if they made it or not.

Scorpious2k server??? what is it, and how can u sell a server.

Scorpious2k was one of the top servers on eqemu. Unfortunetly Sony issued them a cease and desist i believe thats what its called, so they had to shut down. Scorpious then decided to sell his work off to the public, only selling 3-4 copys.

what does this DB contain then? was this server a pvp server?

It comes with:

Custom items
Custom spells
Custom Zones (not on sony)
Over 195 total populated zones, most custom populatioins
Quests
Player Merchant Class
Stargates (a way to travel)
Custom code (including the source)

It also comes with:

A copy of the s2k website (excluding forums) with the data and tutorials it had
Some notes, etc
General utilities we used

General support from myself and Dindoleki to help you get it running

It wasn't PVP, but I always thought it would be interesting to see one if some creative person could make a PVP version. The idea of offering several copies of it was to get different visions of the server out there for players to choose from.

so your giving away the server info...Is it free. If not put a price on it and Ill definately think about buying it off you

With the amount of time put in to it, I could only assume it would be $500 or more.

Nope. We sold the others for $200, but after Dark Realms got hit with a C&D from sony we decided to let the last one go for $100.

I wonder what it is about this server that scares sony..

What about all the time and work fathernitwit and the others put in to this project? What is it worth? If I had 500.00 to spend, It certainly would go to the project and the people who let me use their work.
After all what was given to me here, I would be ashamed to try and sell what I put into to this project.
I'll just keep on "chiping away" at what I have, and I'm sure one day, it will be worthwhile to someone else here.

I never said I was interested in buying, I'd never spend that much on it... hell, I wouldn't be easy at spending $100.

If it was $25 or so, I would consider it.

I have made donations to FatherNitwit, through PEQ and EQEmu... don't get me wrong.

My asking that was just out of curosity, I wanted to know how much he was expecting to get...
