Weird happening last night
I made a new toon, an Ogre Shadowknight and wandered out into the Feerott for the first time. As soon as I got out there the server disconnected me so I waited a while and got back in. When I went out there it looked as if every mob in the zone spawned in the exact same spot. When something like this happens, is there anything I can do to reset it or how do I report it? This was on the PEQ-The Grand Creation server. Thanks!

seen this before
I too found this happening. I will likely have to check it out in my database editor sometime. In my case, about 7 npc's were bunched together.

About your problem, are you sure that the mobs were there ? You may see them because your client didn't got any refresh concerning their loc and displays them at the wrong place (eventually where they spawn or where they stop in their wandering), althought they may be somewhere else, its kinda frequent, and not harmfull since they won't agro you from that wrong spot. |
It seems like that's the safe point of the zone. It happens in several zones especially with pets. When I did a #zone neriakc, I telported the that zone's safe point (past the Cleric's guild?) and there were multiple skeleton pets there where I was standing. Seems like an issue with PEQ's database because I don't seem to get it with cavedude's.

The reason this is happening is the Z'height of the spawns is out of bounds i.e like -3243 rather than 20 typically. When an NPC spawns, it goes to it's determined spot according to spawns2 table, but if the z is way off, the npc spawns at 0,0,0. If you target the npc and do a #loc, you will get it's location, but it will not say 0,0,0. I fixed this easily in the database editor.
GeorgeS Let me know if you need further help |
Oh, sweet! Thanks for clearing that up. I'm going to fiddle around with it some more now and I'll post back if I run into any issues.
