pushing updated zonename_chr.txt files

is there a mechanism in the server executables (like zone or world) that would allow me to "push" updated zonename_chr.txt files. i want to use some models in some old world zones that are not normally available, but want to not have to rely on the players manually installing them, if possible.

any hints welcome

Other than running a patcher I don't know how you would do it. But if you get the emu to push whatever files you want to users and overwrite their current ones, that could be a pretty big security risk to people on your server. Way too many people that play with eqemu and think they are hackers. They would have a field day with something like that.

Personally, I'd recommend a "pull" method for your player base. Just have them check for updates, and either replace their local files via a zip download, or if they are adept - edit the files themselves based on an instruction set you provide.

Another consideration against "push" are alternate servers where admins might all have unique chr files - could get messy, overwriting each other all the time.
