Running EQ @ 1920x1200

I am running EQEmulation in XP through bootcamp on a MBP. I have my laptop plugged into a dell LCD with a native resolution of 1920x1200. However when I attempt to run EQ it consistently fails to initialize. I know the issue is related to resolution. When I set the resolution to a non-native resolution of 1600x1200 the game runs, but of course looks ugly. I would like to be able to run my computer at the native 1920x1200, and don't mind if the EQ window is smaller at a resolution the game supports.

Is this possible? Has anyone else had these issues, or resolved them?

Always try the basics. Update you graphics card drivers, change native screen resolution. Try running it in a window, and then without a window. If all that fails, it could be a client issue that fixed with later patch and since we use a static client, most likely you're SOL.

On my Dell 1705 laptop, to get eq running at 1920x1200, I set it to be windowed when starting up, then set the eq option to be full screen, full resolution. No problems at all. Make sure you have DX9.0c and latest drivers installed. Running on an external monitor is harder as you need to disable the laptop display and set the external as primary. This is set in the display property panel in windows.

Thanks for the feedback. I have set my external display as primary, and have all the latest driver updates installed, and dx 9.0.
How dw you set up eq to be windowed at start up?

See my response to your other thread about playing EQ in windowed mode. To have it start this way is simple also - when you play in windowed mode, instead of camping, use /exit. The next time you log in, you'll be in windowed mode.

Alternatively (though I'm not 100% sure because I'm not playing) There is an option in the preferences.

Good luck!
Sonic
