Rerun patch error
 

I constantly get that error anymore--up to my 30th try trying to log in now.Whats up with that?

Hmm, I'm guessing you didn't give enough information to get any help. Is this your first time trying to get this particular install working? Did you accidentally start to patch and then realize you had to modify the eqgame.exe shortcut to avoid patching? Lots of unanswered questions that could potentially help us reply and help you. So, and I really hate doing movie lines, 'help us help you'. :)

What's the background, the patient history, so to speak?

Ive been playing for months.But after the Login server went screwy the other day i get this error constantly.
Error 1017:Cannot login to the everquest server.You may need to re-run the update patch.Repeatedly seeing this message idicates a loss of connectivity to the patch server.This is usually temporary.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you may need to reinstall the file list may be off and you may be using a different version.
