An Odd Problem
After fighting with the server i've been working on for a few weeks, its finally up and people are able to log in. But now i have random disconnects. I thought it was related to the use of bots originally, but noone on the server has been using bots and the problem still occurs. From what i've noticed its when a pc character dies or zones. This doesn't happen every time, it seems random; I can't pin down a certain zone or amount of time before it happens. When it happens i just get that 10060 message where I can't connect to the login server, however the problem is that my connection is dropped all together. I can't use the internet at all and have to restart my computer. Has anyone come across anything like this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Setting up the server I followed Techguy's guide and the RouterFix http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=RouterFix only thing about the routerfix i didn't do was change <!-- Sets the ip/port for the tcp connections. Both zones and console (if enabled). Defaults are shown --> <tcp ip="localhost" port="9000" telnet="disable"/> to <!-- Sets the ip/port for the tcp connections. Both zones and console (if enabled). Defaults are shown --> <tcp ip="YourNoIPName.no-ip.info" port="9000" telnet="enable"/> in eqemu_config.xml because that line wasn't part of my .xml and when i added it, I couldn't connect to the login server |
Could it possibly be your ISP limiting your bandwith?

There were lots of problems of d/c's when a toon dies. These have been fixed to the best of my knowledge, are you using the latest server version?

Setup 2 weeks ago, if there has been a newer version since then, no.

When I replaced the bot provided zone/world.exe and EmuSharMem.dll the crashes stopped, but now it randomly drops zones while players are in them. Also when players zone it doesn't display the zone name it'll say
You have entered Long zone missing. Is there something additional i have to do when reverting back from the bot files? |
Update it was a problem with my router, thanks for the help :)
