Blank Server List and then "Error - a timeout has occured"

I just want to play as a client on any server. Everything seems to work fine until I'm supposed to select a server to play on. I have a blank server list and after a minute or two of just idoling on the screen I get a "Error - a timeout has occured". It doesnt boot me or anything, I just have click "OK" and then it will idol some more and I will get the same message after another minute or two.

I have followed the instructions precisely multiple times with fresh installs of Titanium on two different computers. I have tried direct connections to my cable modem, I've tried pressing ENTER after the "Host=eqemulator.net:5998" and anything else I could find on the forums.

Is there anything I can do?

I had this problem on my laptop, with XP and Vista both. Seems to me, it turned out to be the wireless connection. The internal device of mine was slow, and did what I call "hic-ups" which confused the link...and so about every time the server list would be blank. Bought a new wireless netowork card, and its about 1 in a 100 times connecting that the list is blank now. So, in my case it seems to have been the network device that caused the problem. Just a thought, don't want to see anyone run out and buy new stuff, just to find that it hasn't fixed anything.

I think I've tried 100 times in the last two days and still a blank list. Thanks for the suggestions.

Bump for more help please.

I seem to be having the exact same problem... but weirdly enough, it's only happening on my Ubuntu install running through Cedega/Wine? Doesn't happen on my XP gaming rig. *scratches head*

Now, that's a two million dollar question - Keep trying and you'll get the "banned from the forums" prize.
