Game Crashes before even starting up

I double click my .exe for the emulator and it acts like its going to load (puts black box in corner etc) and then says has encountered an error. No error number or anything, just crashes.

Whats the cause of this?

Did you follow this guide to get it working? You need to follow it exactly:

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide

Make sure you are using the shortcut and NOT clicking any exe files. You have to have the patchme statement of the eqgame.exe will error and tell you to run everquest.exe. Get that far and let us know if you need help with further issues.

Also, make SURE you are running a legal copy of Everquest Titanium pack. Anything other than that, or any illegal copies will not work and will not be supported on these forums.

Yea my copy is legit have had it for a while now just sitting around in a box with all my other games.

I did do all of that here is a screenshot of what I did:

Make sure your PC fits the min requirements to play EQ.

You might want to try updating your video card drivers and making sure you are running DirectX 9c. Also, make sure you have enough RAM available to start EQ, because if you are too low on RAM, it won't even load. You need at least 500MBs of free RAM available. You can check how much you have available by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time and clicking the Performance tab.

Which OS are you running? Looks like XP, but just making sure.

Another thing to mess with is the resolution that EQ starts at. You can adjust it in the eqclient.ini or I think by using the eqconfig tool or whatever it is called which may be under the EQ section in your Program Files (that you get to from the start button), or it should at least be in your Everquest directory. If you sort the files by type, you should see all of the .exe files and one of them is the config one.

I found the answer in a 3 year old post, lol... it was resolution problem.

I am running 2 24" monitors , had to fix the resolution to match.

(8800gtx is my video card) think that is enough beef to run the game =)

Thanks for the help.
