no servers showing up -- time out
Whenever I log into EQEmu the server select is blank and eventually times out. I have no idea why, I followed all the steps and searched on the forum but nothing has helped.
-I have retail copy of Titanium freshly installed without any patching -I have a EQEmu Login Account -I edited the EQHost file perfectly without any white spaces -I'm running it with the eqgame shortcut with patchme -My firewall and antivirus are turned off -I have a good computer so that's not a problem At this point i'm absolutely clueless on what the problem could be Thanks |
Are you in a college dorm by chance? Most of them run proxies that can block the ports needed to play on.

I don't live in a dorm
I am using a cable internet connection. I'm not sure if my ISP would be blocking port 5559 since I can log into my LS account no problem. |
You mean 5998?
Code:
Host=eqemulator.net:5998 http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide Otherwise, everything you already said sounds good to me. |

If you are running a dual or quad core CPU or windows Vista, you might want to check out this post: http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25327 |
I did it again :( sorry I used 5998
I'm running a single core AMD processor and have never had problems playing EQLive |
I know you mentioned in your first post that you are running a retail copy of titanium, but the only other thing I can think of that would cause this is the incorrect version of EQ. Where did you get the copy of Titanium from?

Windows Firewall?

One fix I remember now that I saw a while back was someone had to go back through the options by clicking the options button in eq after opening eq, but before logging in. Then they just went through the options like normal. I think the important part was they had to select their video card. Don't as me why that would work, but I think it did work for at least 1 guy. Maybe also try updating your video card drivers and you might even want to try messing with your resolution.
Oh ya, and what internet connection speed do you have? If you are running P2P or Torrent programs on any PCs on your network, try turning them off and see what happens. Those types of file sharing programs can be MAJOR connection hogs and could definitely cause an issue like this. |
The fix that works for me is to go to "Options" from the first menu, accept the card and settings (what models are in the luclin version etc...) and then come back to login.
For information, it is on Linux with cedega on a dual core amd X2 processor and a nvidia card with proprietary drivers installed. I had no problems with the same OS on an older amd athlon XP processor and an older nvidia card (TI - 4200). |
The fix did work for a moment, then the problem was back.
I changed the WindowedMode option in eqclient.ini from TRUE to FALSE (so the game is in full screen). I changed all the resolutions to the correct ones. And now the problem seems to be gone for good (touching wood...) |
