crash when i should just start playing

Anybody know why i would be crashing to desktop instead of playing th game? I select character, i load, and instead of the user interface coming up, i go to desktop

Edit:Also, i tried on 3 different servers, including Hogie's(about a week ago, anyways)

That happens ALOT (i have about a 1 in 20 chance of logging in when i try). Just delete the char and make a new one that starts in a diff city.
