max charges

if i set an item to maxcharges -1 then the item is fine it stays and has unlimited cast..

if i set maxcharges to 1 then it says the item has 0 charges..

im trying to make a spell (umbra orb recourse) and i mad the item is soppose to summon thats suppose to have 1 charge of the spell to heal them.. but when it summoned it says 0 charges.

i thought from looking at the code that when an item is made without charges it would look at the max charges to get how many charges it has?

is this a bug or is there something i can do to fix it? even if its a change i need to make in the spell file itself?

all the tools im using are form gorges site so the spell editor there also

I highly recommend trying the Ailia/Bleh spell editor from the tools section. That one is the best I have seen for spell edits. It is very straight forward and easy to use.

As for max charges, as far as I have seen, any item with max charges set higher than 0 should have that number of charges on it. Did you reboot your server after you made the change? Have you tried setting it to 2 charges to see what happens? Also, have you tried clicking it to see if it still casts the spell even though it says 0 charges? Once an item with 0 charges is clicked, it will always poof in the emu. I think setting it to 0 will show 0 charges, but might still allow 1 click of it and then poof the item. So, maybe 1 just shows 0 for some odd reason, but still does allow the click.

seems the problem was the itemtpe.. the soul orb has a type of 17 so i set it to that and it had 0 charges.. i set it to the same as a potion and it worked.
