Titanium

I have heard of some people being able to do this without titanium. I was wondering what versions they did have to get it to work.

I see when the batch file runs it looks for 6.2, titanium, and anniversary. Cmon coding geniuses, what files does it look for? Is there a way to fool it in to thinking you have titanium? Can someone post the file(s) it looks for? Is it not that easy?

There is SoD out there they too said you needed titanium I got it to work without it once. But not this, so close yet so far.

No internet conneciton at home yet, new street, cable company hasn't even put in the little boxes all the way down the street yet. :(

nm i saw something that answered it pretty much but what files other than everquest.exe or eqgame.exe does it look for, maybe those will be easier to find other than titanium disks.

PS - If someone is near Indianapolis with the disks and wants to sell them or other options lemme know Pm.. Thanks

You won't get any help or answers for how to get around installing a legal copy of Titanium. Any illegal file sharing or even discussion of it are grounds for immediate account bans here.

There is no point in trying to piece together an EQ directory anyway, as it would be nearly impossible. The only versions that work with the emulator currently are Titanium (unpatched) and the 6.2 client which is impossible to get anymore. So, really your only option is to buy a copy of Titanium.

Try reading the forum rules and you might want to check out the FAQ as well. Both are stickies in the general forum.

Just to clarify, the reason it doesn't work is not because the server is expecting version XXX and the client says it's version YYY (the server doesn't even ask). Instead, it has to do with the network code (specifically OpCodes) that are used during the login. Each of those clients use different OpCodes to initiate the login. The server looks for the OpCode used (OP_SendLoginInfo), and based on that, is able to tell which client is talking to the server.

In theory, you can have ANY client connect to the server, but the server has to be able to communicate with it. This means dissecting encryption, OpCode mapping, and packet structures. This is on top of the code for actually making it work (primarily for new features).

If all this was easy, the Emu community would still be chasing Live. Unfortunately, it's not, and at this point, there is some occasional work with the Anniversary client, but because we don't have many (if any) packet collections when Anniversary was first launched, we're pretty much shooting in the dark.

The reason most "illegal downloads" don't work is because they are NOT Titanium and don't have the Titanium executables, etc, that send OpCode 0x4DD0 for the OP_SendLoginInfo packet.

I hope this sheds some light on why you HAVE to have Titanium.
