Zones crashing: .map not detected

There is a problem on my server where when players zone into certain zones like thurgadinb and trakanon, it will crash the zone and boot them. It's annoying bc they keep logging back in basically crashing every zone. I looked at the zone.exe and it says something like '.map and .wtr' not detected which I believe is causing the problem. I did an SVN update on my maps, downloaded completely new ones, did SVN cleanup, but none of these worked. Any clues?

What revision eqemu are you using?

I'm using rev628

Are the .map files in the Maps/ directory? If you downloaded directly from SVN to the Maps/ directory, they may have been put into a subdirectory of Maps/. You should also check the directories defined in eqemu_config.xml to make sure there isn't a problem there.

well its not all zones. It is only those 2 zones so far. And I am in my maps folder looking right at the two maps that it says are missing

Only those zones crashing or only those zones give the .map and .wtr not detected messages?

Randymarsh9 06-23-2009 01:16 PM

Those zones are the only ones crashing and they are the only ones with that issue

You could remove the files (thurgadinb.map, thurgadinb.wtr, etc.) and re-download them. I really don't have any other ideas given the symptoms you describe. It is very unlikely to be a configuration error or eqemu bug since it only affects those two zones. It is most likely there is a problem with the map and water files or a problem accessing them (permissions).

I've already tried that,so I guess those zones are just locked for good
