EQEmu login server account issue

I followed the windows server setup on the Wiki and loaded the EQEMUloginserver.exe. Created the accounts using insert into tblLoginServerAccounts (AccountName, AccountPassword, AccountEmail, LastLoginDate, LastIPAddress) values('test', sha('abcdef12'), 'admin@somewhere.com', now(), '127.0.0.1');

it loaded it into the database fine but when I try to login with the EQ client I get an invaled username/password error. When looking at the EQEmu Login Server window I see the OP_Login then it says User: 4345fd5faa1a3c2e89ef Hash: d253e3bd69ce1e7ce67 Could not find user 4345fd5faa1a3c2e89ef Output packet size is 84.

I have searched the forums but havn't found anything for this any ideas?

I am having the exact same issue. I have tried multiple AccountName AcountPassword combinations. The username and password returned by the login server is always a meaningless string of characters. I've tried to debug the eqemulogin server code, but the problem appears in the DecryptFunc of EQEmuAuthCrypto.dll for which there is no source code.

Anyone have any ideas?

i had no problems logging into the server (to server select) with a password of 10 characters (5 alpha and then 5 numeric). i just couldn't get past server selection.

I have tried for weeks with different usernames and passwords (sha and plain). I have the variable set to "Public" instead of "minilogin". I have tried various IP settings in the eqemu_config.xml and eqhost.txt (router address, lan address, server address, 127.0.0.1, dyndns address, no-ip.biz address, localhost). World.exe connects to the login server and I can watch the login command window reject my user name "Could not find user 5da4c2c" but I can't get past "Error - The username and/or password were not valid. Please check them and try again." on the EQ login screen. I am not sure if the encrypted username in the login command window means anything (it isn't encrypted in the login database).

I tried a new account and a 6 character password but I still get the same "Error - The username and/or password were not valid. Please check them and try again." on the EQ login screen and a long string of jumbled letters and characters in the login server command window stating "Could not find user <encrypted string>".

Someone suggested using a password of "11111111" (eight 1's). For some reason that worked and I was able to get past the "Error - The username and/or password were not valid. Please check them and try again." on the EQ login screen. Obviously that doesn't correct the root problem, everyone shouldn't use the same password but at least I am past the login screen>

Now I can work on the next problem that appeared: Error 1017.
