Is it possible?
 
To add X loots too ALL nps in a zone in with random drop rates in a simple query?

Also -- is it possible to make it so you cant zone out of somewhere... it would just be like hitting an invisible wall?

loot- probably not that simple - at least i can't come up with one quickly enough

on zoning: there are few ways:

-alter zone out coordinates for the zone so it zones you back into same zone
-lock out neighboring zones either by putting lev req on them or gm status on them
-put a tracker npc which will detect an approaching players and bounce him back
-finally put an actual wall - such as a non operable DOOR - to block the zone out

how could i do the wall idea? im trying to make it so the only way out is of this zone is to gate.

well it won't be an actual "invisible wall" - more like a door - it just won't be operable.

there is a table in DB which contains all the doors. Basically what you can do is create a new door in that zone and place at at the zone exit- you can also make it larger if its not big enough
