Did you build this yourself? If not, it is possible that the build was linked against a version of the VC++ runtime that you do not have installed.

VC++ runtimes from Microsoft:

2005 (x64)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
2008 (x64):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I Got the database files from projecteq svn and the eqemu build from the google code from this website but the build rev was 1264 and the database version is rev 1265 maybe thats it?

i tried downloading the things and installing them and still same issue

No, the database "version" has nothing to do with it. It is most likely your compile. The database only has a "version" as to match the timeline in which the eqemu versions are released.

ok so maybe the version of mysql?

Taurinus 03-04-2010 08:22 PM

Doubtful. World would start and function correctly in that case, but report database errors.

The error you posted in an application configuration error and generally points to either a) virus infection or b) CRT errors (both of which cause heap corruption and seg faults.)

You problem actually need the x86 runtimes (no harm in installing them together with the 64bit ones) since the binaries from the svn are 32bit (totally forgot about that, sorry!)

2008:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

2005:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Oh, my mistake. I thought you compiled your own. After re-reading, you downloaded revision 1264 already compiled. That won't work. On windows7 64 bit you need to compile your own.

Xenerox 03-04-2010 09:04 PM

how do i go about doing that?

Why is this so?

I wasn't saying yours wouldn't work. It was in re: to my own comment.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting the solution! :)
I doubt I would have ever made the connection between the World.exe issue and the 64bit instal of Perl. :?

I went ahead and added the warning not to install Perl 64bit to the two wiki pages that I referred to when installing the server:

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=Windows
http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...ka=ws992mysql5

All of the resources and help on EQEmu is fantastic! I am having a great time learning how to run my own private server! :D
