Logging into the World
 

Im not sure if im not doing something right or if im just impatient, but when i get to the character selection screen nothing happens, the level 1 warrior guy named newbie just spins around and around. Am i supposed to wait for a few minutes till it enters the world, or just fix it some how. Any help is greatly appreciated.

First, you cant use the word "server" in worldname (ot doesnt like that anymore).. second, you left worldaddress BLANK which should have your internet IP address in it.

finally, you need to MAKE a character (i assume you have never played real EQ a day in your life which complicates things immensely). The bet advice I can give you is to play EQ for a while (you can get a free 30-day trial just about anywhere).

thanks for the advice, i get what im supposed to do now. And i have been playing EQ for years. Also for Worldname do i put a certain server name of can i just specify on the server selection screen when i running eqgame.exe.

hmmm if you just want to play on a eqemu server you just need to edit yout eqhost.txt and create an account here which you already have done =) Worldname and adress is if you want to run your own server and then you just need to come up with a name for it and type in your ip number =)

Thanks, i did all that but when i get to the character selection screen and i click enter world, nothing happens.

i get dissconnected right after server name aproaval and i have changed the host file as directed everytime i try same thing. Im running win xp on a 33.6 connection not shure if that would have any bearing and i have set the connection speed to 7.0 stead of 5.0 but that was last try have tried about 30 times same result. also went to my brothers and tried his his was patched later than mine to see if that was it still nothing just the god awful
