Install Help Error: Could not download to file.
 

I have run the steps listed on this site to install eq. When i click on my shortcut i get this error

Error Downloading Patcher Files

Error: Could not download to file.

Please rerun Everquest.exe to try again.

here is what my shortcut looks like

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\EverQuest.exe" patchme

why is my game trying to patch in the first place? i thought the patchme would make it skip that. Also after clicking on the shortcut my eqhost.txt is still correct and points to the emu server.

I have windows Vista, could this be a permission issue?

The shortcut should be EQGAME.EXE patchme, not everquest.exe

Try "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
