Fear not working in latest build?
 

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place or not but from what I've read on the forums, fear "should" have been working for a while now. In fact, the rules all in the database say it's enabled.

HOWEVER

Whenever I (necro) cast fear on a mob, it says the fear spell has worn off immediately after casting.

Is there another server setting I need to check for to enable fear to actually work? I should also note that this is the level 4 fear... I read somewhere that the level 4 fear may not work properly and the higher level ones do but I cannot yet confirm that.

I just tested it and it works fine (although the low level fear spell for a Necro appears to be level 2, not level 4).

The only thing that springs to mind as why it may wear off straight away is if you don't have a .map file for the zone you are in, in your server Maps folder, or if it is the wrong .map in the case of zones that have multiple versions (Nektulos, Lavastorm).

You can get a lot of serverside .maps from http://code.google.com/p/eqemumaps/ but for newer zones you may have to build your own using http://code.google.com/p/projecteqem...8.rar&can=2&q=

Hmm... Thanks for the info. I'll have to check that out. Maybe I've got the Maps location identified wrong in the eqemu_config.xml file?
