Been trying to log onto my freinds server and i cant even get a character made before I get booted back to the server screen. I run Win Xp, and have dropped down to 16-Bit color as suggested on another post. Nothing either my friend, or I do seems to remedy this problem. My datarate is set to 9.0, I have the host.txt file in the directory... nada. I can make it as far as the submitting name to server for approval, then poof. Also, when I load up to the server select screen for the first time, and try to log onto my friend's server, I get a 1017 error, I click OK, then I can load up his server with the above problem. I feel the 2 are somehow connected. BTW, no I do not have Win xp firewall up. Any and all help will earn you a beer ;)

I already have my beer stash, so i'm not motivated to help you...

(that, and I can't think of a thing that the client side would be having problems with...)

Except, can others log into his server? him? others besides him and anyone on his local network?

Archivis: log into a green server and see if you have the same problem.

Otherwise it is your friends server setup causing the problem, not your client setup.
