Anyone need free server + web hosting?
 

After some analysis of my servers
(I am running two)
I have determined that I should probably just focus on one, but I have extra hardware and network availability for another entire server+web-server

I noticed that my classic server has had 159 unique characters logged in 2010 up till today (Nov 22, 2010).

The Power-gamer server has had 350 unique characters logged in this year.

Of the characters on the servers
Classic has 218 characters total - I started it late 2009
Powergamer has 1485 characters total - It has been running since mid-2008

In the last year,
The Classic server has had 7 characters equal to or over level 50 (max is 60)
The Powergamer server has had 14 characters equal to or over level 70 (max is 80)

Overall the
Classic Server has 7 characters >= level 50
Powergamer Server has 88 characters >= level 70


As much as I hate to do it, I believe that the best thing to do would be to archive the classic server, and focus all of my personal development time on the power-gamer server

I have spent considerable amount of time developing both of them in different directions, that time can be used more effectively on one server; this was my intention a year ago. I was going to try a classic server, and see if that "took off", it didn't.

Conclusion:
I am offering up some of my resources for someone who wants their server hosted for free, (for someone with an existing server, not someone new). If I don't get any takers, I will just use the other resources for an open "test server" type environment.

For the interim, I will be renaming the servers to "Alakamin", and "Alakamin-Test"

I will edit everything else accordingly to reflect the changes.

For those interested, we can talk details.
The server specs are an i7 running at 4GHZ with 12 gigs of ram; you would be allotted a portion of that through a VM, variable through analysis of usage at a later date.
Operating system isn't important, I can provide any you need.
Web server isn't important I will provide any you need.
I will only provide MySQL for the DB.
There is redundancy through RAID-0
The server host machine has a LARGE UPS, and is rated for up to 45 minutes during a blackout at the load level I have attached to it.

Alsoo , You Can SoD/UF Vendors and such alike now , but itll be awsome to play the content again :-)

Will be jumping into the DB design again .. like before.. I have until march, then free time = minimal

should take me a few weeks to get some of the WIP stuff completed.

I enabled the Sof/SoD clients.. as far as content, that's a ways off ...... I am after all maintaining a monstrous sql script that piggybacks off of peq, each time they do a major release, i grab it and run/fix my updates

my server is geared towards solo+bots, or 1-2 groups together
