NPC's on mounts?
Anyone ever figure out how to place an NPC on a mount?
Obviously having the a mount usable race cast the mount spell doesn't do it. Live certainly had NPC's using mounts though, would be interesting if we could figure it out. Kayen GM Storm Haven |

Which NPCs on live use mounts ?
|
I don't recall ever seeing an NPC on live using a mount.
Would be awesome, though. |
One example that I know of is in the SoD raid event in old field of scale. Emperor Ganak rides a flying Sokakar(sp?) ie Iksar raiding the winged Sokakar mount.
You can make it out in the screen shot bellow. HTML Code:

Try race 530 with #doanim 123 or #doanim 124
While that won't accomplish a true flying effect I bet If you forced an animation loop with a quest script it would simulate the flying effect. |
I already messed around with animation loops using those two, doesn't really ever look right cause they fully land in mid air ect, nor does it look like how the dragons look in the screen shot for that event.

it could have been a whole individual model all together - like in PoNB there are some skeletal riders - but they are not dread guards on a corpse - its a whole individual model
but getting the players model on a mount as npc would be awesome =) |
Sorry to resurrect an old post but I stumbled across something that might be useful in trying to get dragons to fly and the flying sokokar mount to work properly.

I think I might need to clarify my point a little better. If you read the posts from the above mentioned link you will find out that the spell Illusion: Flying Dragon(21626) had multiple animation states associated with it when it was initially introduced. According to the posts it was later changed to function a little bit differently. It may have been that the flying trick has some sort of set appearance aspect to it which could explain the multi states that are talked about.
At the very least I would think that the TargetAnim field from the spell data would be the correct number to use with #doanim. I tried the #doanim 233 with my SoD client and it crashed the client the first time and did nothing the second time. I think it is missing something. |
Akkadius where did you get that screen shot from?
The player in the photo is from my old guild on live lol. Kayen |
