Moved to Debian - map question
I decided that if I am going to setup a server I would rather go Debian. Last night I dumped my Windows 2003 server and did a Debian 5, which I have setup before years ago. I have done this a few times so not sure where I am getting this problem. I have everything tweaked good and the bots are working, quest are working. Zone times are great and all is well. For some reason my maps are not working. I have them in /home/eqemu/maps and eqemu/users owns the directory and files. The damn things refuse to work though. I do a #bestz in any zone and they show deactivated. I have tried tox, poknowledge, etc.... and they are not working. probably missing something simple here but I have not figured it out yet.

Okay, i figured it out. In Linux is has to be /home/eqemu/Maps with the first letter uppercase. The Debian Linux guide in the Wiki does not reflect this.

Welcome to the wonderful word of case sensitive filenames. :)
You can actually control this as far as I know. I haven't tried changing any of these myself, but they do appear to come from the config file: <!-- Directory locations. Defaults shown --> <directories> <!-- <maps>Maps</maps> --> <!-- <quests>quests</quests> --> <!-- <plugins>plugins</plugins> --> </directories> |
Totally missed that one.
