EQEmulator Forums - Question on

I am trying to learn how to script but I find this irregular. I am trying to understand why this is random.

Code:

sub EVENT_SPAWN

{

quest::settimer("test", 5);

}



sub EVENT_TIMER

{

        if ($timer eq "test")

        {

        quest::shout($zonetime);

        }

}

Why would the NPC spit this out, at random times, I would think it would be every 5 seconds. Instead....

Test shouts '1556'
Test shouts '1601'
Test shouts '1611'
Test shouts '1616'
Test shouts '1621'
Test shouts '1631'
Test shouts '1637'
Test shouts '1641'
Test shouts '1651'

The only thing I will say, this is on a VM and I know that they have clock issues and it could be the VM adjusting every so often on it's time drift. Or maybe shouts are not consistent.
