SOF+SoD patch
Bought SoD but it seems like more of a upgrade. Only 638MB. Read a post about updating with live. Question what does connecting to live give you with the update and any real reason to?

Where did you buy SoD from? The only officially supported version is from Steam and that version is actually Underfoot now.
You don't want to update to Live. The Live client is partially supported, but the other supported clients are much more complete. The guide lists all of the currently supported clients: http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide |
I had posted to forum on that. I bought from Amazon downloads. Maybe should have bought HoT instead for the 19.99 price I paid. If you search Amazon, I do not think it comes up. If you Google it, then you can find the Amazon link for it. For all the maps, etc... may need SoF then install the SoD download since it is only like 630MB.

Sounds like it is official that the Amazon downloads are not and will not be supported by EQEmu. I don't think anyone has actually tried it until now (or at least haven't reported doing so here). You need to get one of the supported clients from one of the supported/recommended resources. You don't need to get the HoT download from Steam, as it seems to be the exact same thing as the Underfoot Starter Pack from Steam. They just use the same download for both, since it patches you to current when you connect to Live anyway and doesn't matter for Live. So, you should get the UF client and NOT patch, or find SoF or Titanium discs if you can.

Yeah I have SoF discs when I played on live. I installed the SoD and it updated some of the files in SoF. So far everything runs fine.
