Short Assistance Request...
 

Hi all,
I'm busy setting up my new server Firiona Reborn, and I'm very new to the process. I'm up and running and I am starting to get things configured how I would like them. I have no problem locating my server from the server select screen and logging in. I Also want to make sure people from outside of my network can log on to my server (I.E. that my router config is OK). If anyone can create a trash character on Firiona Reborn and confirm that you can log in, and if so reply with a yes/no and a ping number, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Unable to login with SoD client. After selecting Firiona Reborn from server select screen I hit play Everquest then the client stops responding for about 20-30 seconds then I am kicked to login screen.

Thanks for the feedback. My internet connection has slowed to a crawl and I'm having trouble connecting to any server. Wondering if people trying to log onto my server and the right ports not being open is messing with my overall internet connection. I'll revisit the settings, thanks!

I changed my port forwarding settings and I think they are correct. If someone could gain please try logging into Firiona Reborn and post your results here, it would be greatly appreciated!

Tried to log in with SOF and sends me back to login screen.

Doing the same with Titanium client as well.

Well, looks like I have more work to do! Thanks for giving it a try. I'll take another look at it when I get home from work tonight.

Hopefully you get this server up and running, OP. There really isn't a RP server for us roleplayers to go to, really. (Assuming it's an RP server.)

The goal is for my server to be somewhat similar to the Firiona Vie server on live. I've disabled the no drop flag. I am going to implement bots, but limit the number you can spawn to one or 2. I haven't made the final decision yet. I figure my server will have a low population and limited bot use may help make up for that somewhat. I made another run at the port-forwarding settings on my router if someone wants to try to connect and report back.... Thanks in advance!

I am able to login now with SoD client. Initial ping time of 108ms. Ping time dropped to 87ms after zoning.

:smile: Thanks so much for logging in and reporting back guys! I'm glad I seem to have my router settings straight. 87 seems like a pretty decent ping. I think that is about what I run when I play on Grand Creation. Now I need to continue the tweaking and make sure everything is as stable as possible. I have my old Windows XP computer running my server in the basement and I have it set to restart the entire computer every day at 4:45 AM, then I have a batch file in my start-up folder that runs the server. I'm hoping that daily resets would help to minimize any downtime to just a few minutes in the wee hours. I want to see if I can figure out a way to automatically backup my database at regular intervals on a thumb drive or something, too. Thanks again guys for trying a few times until I got my settings right!

I think I've got Universal chat working properly on Firiona Reborn. If someone wants to try to log a character on and send an e-mail to my character Gnorman, that would be a help! I can send an e-mail to him from a character logged into my server from my same network, but I'd like to see that characters on my server from outside my network can use UCS. Hopefully I have my router forwarding correct on that now, as well! Thanks in advance!
