Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt

Hello,

I seem to be having issues after clicking on the server and then clicking launch. The "screen stays black." If I click the screen it will say not responding and immediately give me, "Error in XML" box. Within that box it says Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt

I followed the directions on both webpages to the best of my ability. Any ideas would be appreciated were I went wrong at.

What servers , all of them or just one ?

Most likely though it's the UI your Client is set too that Eqemu doesn't like.

There are a few UI's that I know in fact do work in eqemu and people use them listed in this forum that you may try using instead of whatever you have atm.

Best of luck to you, let me know if that works

Hi,

Thanks for responding, it seems like all servers.

Bevi1019 05-11-2011 05:03 PM

I am currently getting the same error, SoF client, all servers.

Bevi1019 05-11-2011 06:47 PM

I get this message for all of my XML files "referenced but NEVER declared!" in the UIError.txt

Lachdanon 05-11-2011 10:48 PM

I just followed both install guides and am getting this error as well when trying to login.

You should post which client it is that you are having trouble with. Also, check the wiki to make sure you are using one of the correct versions of EQ for EQEmu:

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...ClientVersions

As for UI errors, generally that would mean you either installed a custom UI, or you installed EQ over an existing EQ installation. Unless you either install EQ to a NEW folder, or uninstall EQ completely and delete the folder for it and then reinstall, there is a chance you will have files remaining from a previous install that will break your EQEmu compatibility.

I am getting this error also. I removed the Velious UI folder and double checked I had the right files in the default folder.

I used the The Secrets of Faydwer to install for the Legacy of 1999 server. I also have EQ installed on another HD partition on my computer. Do I need to totally removed both again and start over with a complete fresh install? I do still play EQ on the SOE servers.

I am not sure what the Legacy of 1999 server is, but if you mean Project 1999, then that is only compatible with Titanium. SoF will not work for it. Though, you should be able to connect to other servers fine to test your client.

Amilu 05-12-2011 01:57 AM

Oops sorry it is Project 1999. Damn, I really didn't want to go out and buy the Titanium version.

I was hoping that the getting started page of the Project 1999 that said - There is another client that works on our server (The Secrets of Faydwer client), but this client is unsupported, and you may experience problems with some of the features. - meant the issues where in game and possibly ignorable.

Looks like i will be making the 50 mile round trip to the nearest store that actually still carries EQ anymore.

sorvani 05-12-2011 02:18 AM

You can always expect to get UI errors. But it should not cause the client to fail to load.

Even live gets UI errors with the default UI now, because Sony has never fixed it.

If you do, make sure you call first! It is extremely rare to find a copy of Titanium on the shelf of any store these days.

If the P99 website says that SoF can work with it, then that is news to me, though I don't really follow their stuff much at all. If it says that, then maybe there is something you can do to resolve it, but you would have to work with them on their forums, not here.

shaduuu 05-12-2011 10:28 AM

I had that error before and had to delete all my Ui's and reinstalled the default 1 and that worked

bard_007 05-12-2011 04:52 PM

hi i got this error when i setup from a underfoot install, my fix was to just grab my live default UI folder and place it in my EQE EQ folder, it loaded and got me to the server screen ...

hehe ill be posting somewhere else the next issues after reading alittle more ..

hope that helps :)

Bevi1019 05-12-2011 05:57 PM

I am currently toying with my files for the SoF client and Project 1999, I've gotten as far as creating a character and the server just went down on me, If I get a fix that allows me to actually enter the game I will post it here.
