Server Up for 2 Weeks, Now Won't Connect
Hi all:
Ran into Chardok with the wife on our server and logged out to make some item changes to the warrior epic. We've been playing for a couple weeks now - server restarts multiple times per day. Suddenly now, I get an error popup when the .bat window reaches Loading zones... Code:
[09.06. - 12:36:29] Starting Log: logs/eqemu_debug_world_3360.log
Still no connection. Here is my config... though nothing changed since I started the server without hitches this morning... Code:
<server> |
Lacking suggestions, I obliterated all my files and reinstalled everything.
It works now, but I still have zero clue what might have caused a sudden failure to connect when I had a 2-week string of successes. If anyone bothers to read this that has an answer... I used Navicat to attempt a dump of some of my DB tables. While it appeared to leave a dump file, it wouldn't source it when I tried to a few minutes later. Any suggestions there on dumping individual tables? In the meantime, I am resorting to frequent db backups in its entirety. |

http://whatsmyip.org Just a guess. |
I use the EQEmu login server. I don't think I have my IP in any of the configs.
We have the server up and running now and can make characters, however, there are no mobs. No NPCs, no mobs, nothing. All empty. My NPC tables are all in the DB and full... Anyone have a hint on this one? It's late for me here... why is my world empty? |
If you updated code, make sure you also applied the required sql updates.
Check your logs for errors. If queries are failing you'll probably see something in there. |

I was wondering during the night whether my mysql version was causing it (5.1.54) but I would think the entire server would be unloadable, not just NPCs. Your post sounds correct. Will post back results. |
Required bot spells. Didn't think I needed it because I don't use bots. Shows you what thinking does.... All fixed now.
haha Thanks, lerxst. |

Hmm, everything was running smooth and again the connection issue.
Opening Navicat, I cannot connect to Localhost_3306. Connected fine yesterday. Error is: 2003 Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) MySQL webpages indicate this is a network connection issue. Why is this, what should I be doing and how do I prevent this repeating error in the future? :x |
Since I wasn't getting any responses, I uninstalled mysql and reinstalled.
I was able to connect to my DB right away using Navicat, but upon investigating an error regarding the "Hackers" table, the whole thing locked out again with a connection issue. What I saw before it locked up was the Hackers table empty - but empty as in not even a field with a (null) in it. So, I uninstalled mysql and reinstalled again. Then, I attempted to back-up my DB using a back-up copy. Mysql refused to use the back-up. Couldn't open it. Since I had just connected, I made a new back-up and then attempted to start the server after the Hackers Table deletion. Server started fine and we are logged in. :x My question is, what caused mysql to stop reading my db and/or why did the Hackers Table corrupt itself and cause this and how do I avoid it in the future? I set my Lan to reserve an IP for my machine. If it was a connection issue, then that should be solved for the future. But what of the table? (note: we have 3 accounts on the server, all in the same house. None of us attempted to "hack" anything. |
Well, that didn't really work, either. A complete reinstall of mysql worked exactly once. Cannot backup the Db and any attempt to restart the server after being shut down results in a failure to connect.
Using navicat to connect, I get an error trying to connect to localhost_3306: 2003 - Can't connect to MySql server on 'localhost' (10061) Any input? At all? |
its possible that your DB and its backup got corrupted. Specially if you keeping them both on same HDD, and it got a bad sector somewhere
