Restrict to existing account only?
 

I'd like to have my server accessible through the loginserver but restict it so that only those with existing accounts can log in (which I'd add locally). Anyone know if this is possible or if there's a writeup somewhere on it?

edit: I know about minilogin but I need to allow accounts to log in with different IPs (laptops etc) so the fixed IP of Minilogin is no good.

I never tried this but, you can give all existing accounts small Gm status.
For example if default is 0, give them status of 1, and then set min required status to login to be 1 as well
This should prevent new new accounts from getting in.

Sounds like a great idea but I don't see anything in variables or rules for that. I see status determining max connections and #zone but no login restriction. Probably I'm just being blind as usual.

In the zone table you could set all zones to be status 1 instead of 0. no idea what that would do to an incoming client. normally if a character zones into a zone where the status is wrong they are booted to the arena i believe.
