Guys, I've been having problems setting this up...
 

So as my name might suggest, I am not the brightest tool in the shed, especially when it comes to creating my own server. Anyway, I was following two separate guides I found by lurking the forums and I ended up finding that one said not to use Mysql 5.1, and to use 5.0 instead, whereas the other one was using 5.1. I was already having problems with installing the database, but I feel maybe I did what a lot of people do and skimmed too many things. Unfortunately I can't go back and fix my error which is why i'm making this thread.

When I open up the Mysql config, no matter what I do the "servers" i "created" (which btw, i have no understanding to any of these programs) are still listed. I've deleted files and uninstalled the program, all to no avail.

All i want to do is create a server where my internet buddy and I can log onto it, summon my own items and teleport to zones, create 3 chars each and 1 group old school raid mobs. I can't do this because there are NO servers with "gm commands", thus I feel I'll never get my satisfaction out.

Can anyone help? lol

Don't know which guides you attempted to use but try one of the following.

Public Server
Private Server
These are the most recent guides that I am aware of and they are also very easy to follow. There will likely be some file name differences but common sense should get you through that part.
